Kids Clay Club: Tic-Tac-Toe Boards
Ages 8–12 | Two 90-minute classes | $70
Tuesdays @ 10:00-11:30am, July 21 & July 28
Kids will dream up a theme, build a handmade ceramic tic-tac-toe board, sculpt their own playing pieces, and return the next week to paint it all. This two-week class is playful, creative, and perfect for kids who love making things with their hands. No clay experience needed.
Maybe their board becomes a slice of toast with avocado and fried egg pieces. Maybe it turns into a sandy beach with seashells and starfish, a pizza with olives & pineapple, or a night sky with stars and planets. The options are endless and we’ll have plenty ideas available for anyone who needs help brainstorming.
During the first class, students will learn basic handbuilding techniques and create their board and pieces from clay. During the second class, they’ll paint their creations with colorful ceramic glazes. After class, we’ll fire everything in the kiln, and finished pieces will be ready for pickup about 2-3 weeks later.
The class includes:
Two 1.5-hour studio sessions (both sessions are required)
Clay, tools, instruction, and painting materials
One custom tic-tac-toe board
A full set of handmade game pieces
Professional kiln firing
Parking/drop-off: Because studio space and parking are limited, this class is designed as a drop-off experience. If your child needs a parent or guardian to stay nearby, we have a few limited seats available in the studio—just let us know before you register for class so we can be sure there is space. There is also a nearby park and coffee shop if you’d like a place to hang out during class.
Age range: This class is designed for ages 8–12 so that students are working at a similar pace and independence level.
Finished pieces: Pottery can occasionally crack or change during drying and firing. We’ll do our best to help each student build strong pieces, but small imperfections are part of the handmade clay process. All pieces must be picked up within 30 days of notification that they are finished.
Cancellations/Refunds: Because space is limited and supplies are prepared ahead of time, cancellations made at least 7 days before the first class are eligible for a 50% refund. If your child is unable to attend, you may also transfer their spot to another child in the correct age range. Please let us know at least the day before class begins so we can plan accordingly. Thanks for understanding.
