Private Party Packages
Clay Hand-building Package
A hands-on experience where guests are guided through a fun hand-building Clay project.
This party is perfect for guests who want the full clay experience without using the pottery wheel. We’ll guide everyone through a fun hand-building project using real clay, simple tools, and adding creative details. After the party, pieces will be glazed and fired so each guest has a finished keepsake to enjoy.
Base package: $375
Includes: up to 8 guests
Additional guests: $45 each
Max: 10 participants & 2 non-participating party hosts
Ages: 10+
Pottery Painting Package
Our most beginner friendly option — each guest will paint one pottery piece any way they like.
Guests will choose from a curated selection of ready-to-paint pottery pieces, then be instructed in the basics of working with pottery glaze (paint), and spend the rest of the party painting and personalizing their creation. After the event, we’ll fire each piece so it’s shiny, food-safe, and ready to enjoy.
Base package: $300
Includes: up to 8 guests
Additional guests: $25 each
Max: 12 participants & 2 non-participating party hosts
Ages: 8+ recommended (ask about younger kids)
Wheel Throwing Package
A small-group pottery wheel experience for guests who want to try something truly memorable.
Guests will learn the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel in a relaxed, beginner-friendly setting. Because wheel throwing requires more one-on-one instruction, this party is designed for smaller groups and includes one finished piece per guest, which we will trim, glaze, and fire after the event.
Base package: $325
Includes: 2-4 guests
Additional guests: $65 each
Max: 6 participants & 2 non-participating party hosts
Ages: 12+
A Few Things to Know
-
Each private pottery party includes 2 hours of reserved studio time. This includes the pottery activity, time for food or cake if you choose to bring it, gifts, and wrapping up at the end.
-
Yes. The party host may arrive up to 30 minutes early to set up simple food, drinks, gifts, or decorations on the provided party table. Aside from the party table, please keep table top decor to a minimum as the tools and supplies for pottery will take up the majority of table space.
Early setup is limited to 1–2 adults only so we can keep the studio calm and ready for guests.
-
The party host is the person who books the party, communicates the details with Blue Heron Clayworks, and is responsible for setup, guest count, food plans, and day-of supervision.
For kids’ parties, the party host is usually a parent or guardian.
-
Each party includes space for up to 2 non-participating adults, such as the party host, a parent chaperone, or a helper.
Because our studio space is limited, please ask about your particular party package/situation.
-
Blue Heron Clayworks is located in a residential area, which means parking is limited. There are about 5 off street parking spots. Carpooling is strongly encouraged whenever possible.
For kids’ parties, drop-off can be a great option, as long as the party host or another responsible adult remains on-site during the event.
-
Yes. You are welcome to bring simple snacks, drinks, cupcakes, or cake.
We recommend keeping food simple since the main focus of the party is the pottery activity. The party host is responsible for setting up and clearing away any food, drinks, decorations, gifts, and personal items.
Alcohol is not permitted at this time. Because we are not licensed for alcohol service or consumption, all private events at Blue Heron Clayworks are currently alcohol-free. Thank you for understanding.
-
Blue Heron Clayworks will handle all pottery-related cleanup, including clay, paint, tools, brushes, wheels, and studio materials.
The party host is responsible for removing any food, decorations, gifts, trash from plates/cups/napkins, and personal items brought into the studio.
The final few minutes of the party are reserved for gathering belongings and clearing the party table.
-
It is the responsibility of the party host to pick up all finished pottery from your event. Finished pieces will be ready 3–5 weeks after the private event.
Because pottery has to dry, be fired, glazed, and fired again, pickup times can vary slightly depending on the project and firing schedule.
-
Yes, but each package is a bit different in the choices available.
Clay Handbuilding Package: We offer a small selection of projects to choose from and will do what we can to make it work for your party theme.
Pottery Painting Package: Option 1: Guests choose at the event from 3-5 pottery pieces that we keep in stock at the studio. OR Option 2: We may be able to special order one type of pottery that every guest paints (like animal figurines or seasonal items). This option may come at an additional fee depending on the timing of your event.
Wheel Throwing Package: Because wheel throwing is a more advanced skill, our goal is just to help each guest successfully create one cylinder. Each person gets to shape that cylinder to their own liking.
-
Two hours is usually just right for the pottery activity and a little celebrating, but if you’d like extra time for food, gifts, or visiting, we may be able to accommodate your request. Additional time is $50 for 30 minutes or $100 for 60. Extra time must be arranged ahead of time and is subject to scheduling availability.
Let’s Plan your Event
We’re now booking private events for mid-July 2026 and beyond, and we’d love to help you plan something creative and fun.
Each party is 2 hours long including the space, the tools, materials, instruction, and firing. Two adults are allowed to come 30 minutes early to set up and decorate if desired.
Our summer availability is fairly flexible, with many openings Monday–Friday between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM. During the school year, Sunday–Thursday evenings from 6:00–8:00 PM usually work best.
Because we’re located in a residential neighborhood, parking is limited and carpooling is strongly encouraged. For kids’ parties, drop-off may be a great option as long as the party host or another responsible adult remains on-site.
To reserve your date, we require a $100 non-refundable reservation deposit, which is applied toward your total party cost. The remaining balance is due on the day of your event.
Fill out the form below, and keep an eye out for an email from us. You should hear back within a week about availability. Let’s party!
